Sizing

How to find your ring size at home:

Choosing the right ring size is easier than it seems, you just some hands and materials that you probably already have.

Here are three easy methods to find your size:

Method 1

With a thread or strip of paper:

If you don't have a ring handy, cut a piece of string or a strip of paper that's about the width of the ring you'd like to wear. Wrap the string or paper around the base of your finger, not too tightly or loosely. Mark the spot where the string or paper meets and measure the length with a ruler. Compare that measurement (the inside circumference) to our chart to find your ring size.

Method 2

With a ring that already fits you well:

Find a ring that fits you perfectly, that doesn't pinch or fall off. Using a ruler or caliper, measure the inner diameter of the ring (from one side to the other, but only the inner part, not counting the thickness of the material). Consult a ring size chart (like the one below) to find your ring size based on diameter.

Method 3

With a glass of water:

Find a glass that is about the width of your palm in diameter. It doesn't matter if it's a water glass, an empty jam jar, or whatever. Just don't make it square.

Fill the glass with water. The exact amount doesn't matter, but if it overflows, you're using too much. Put the finger you want to measure into the glass (without the ring, obviously). Try to get the water up to your knuckle. With your other hand, take a permanent marker and draw a line in the water, right up to where your finger reaches.

Take your finger out, close your eyes, and reflect on your life decisions. Then measure the distance from the edge of the glass to the line you drew in the water. Divide that number by 3.14.

Boom! You now have a useless number. Just in case, check out the other methods above.

Tips:

Make sure you measure your finger at a time of day when it is neither too cold nor too swollen. Hands change size depending on the ambient temperature. If you are between sizes, it is always better to choose the larger size. It is easier to fit a large ring than a small one.

If the ring is for a gift, try to be as discreet as possible to find out the correct finger size, otherwise you will spoil the surprise, it has happened to me xd
